This is a book about interaction. Interaction with others. Interaction with yourself.
It defines those interactions (there are 16 of them), defines the only possible outcomes (there are two) and the paths interactions take when interactions go well, and the one path interactions will take when things don’t go well. That is, when you lose.
The book also provides a workable method for fixing things up. (aka ‘work’)
This is a Do It Yourself activity.
If you are an average, above average, or super human being, then this will be the hardest book you ever read.
Full comprehension does not occur with one, or even, several, readings.
This is a very simple, direct book about an extremely complex subject – you.
What you can expect are gradual understandings. What you can expect is to have your eyes glaze over. The trick is to know when that is about to happen, ease off and work with what you’ve already read and understood. Get examples from your life and the life around you. Come back when you’re ready for more.
It can take 20 readings or more to gradually build up a very full comprehension of the material.
This is not to say that many many realizations about self, others and life do not occur along the way. Quite the opposite.
Below are text to speech audio files of the book. The phrasing and intonation is not perfect. Listening and re-listening can help in gaining understanding of the landmark concepts and DIY self help techniques presented. Count on confusion and non comprehension. This is not an easy read. However it is quite workable. Increased understanding comes with repeated listenings after digesting the material. Find examples of the presented concepts in your life and experience.
Following is a Text to Speech audio of the book broken into chapters. The pronunciation is not wonderful. The intonation is sometimes difficult, (it loves to shout out the word ‘truth’ no matter what editing one does to it). And it sure doesn’t sound like Dennis.
But it’s the best way to review the material. It sort of moves along at a pace. And it’s portable, put it on your phone.
